VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Volcanoes have their sights set on 2025, aiming to build on the successes of last season on the floor and in the community. The professional basketball team finished 1st place in The Basketball League (TBL) Pacific Northwest Western Division, which was their most successful campaign since returning to Vancouver in 2021. This will be the team’s fourth season in the TBL.
The Volcanoes saw back-to-back playoff appearances in 2024, and has also become home to Portland-native and TBL All-Star, Marcus Golder. The Volcanoes also have 5 players playing professional basketball around the world from the 2024 roster: Tyshon Pickett (Mexico), Carson Newsome (Malta), Thomas Miles (Germany), Xavier Dupree (Columbia), and Vincent Boumann (Mexico). Depending on their availability, they may return to the Volcanoes team in the upcoming 2025 season. The 2025 Volcanoes are excited to announce the return of small forward Elijah “Boogie” Ford, shooting guard Zeke Quinlan, and small forward Andre McCowan, who missed last season with an injury.
The team will be hosting tryouts for the 2025 roster on two Saturdays, one on Dec. 21, 2024 and one on Jan. 25, 2025. The TBL Draft will be on Feb. 2. Following the draft, training camp will be held from Feb. 7 through Feb. 9. The final roster will be set on Feb. 10. The official 2025 Media Day for the upcoming season will be held on Feb. 11 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the RV Inn Style Resorts Convention Center. Media Day allows local media to meet the 2025 Volcanoes players, take group photos, and gather media coverage for the 2025 Vancouver Volcanoes season.
