Volcanoes Push Past Electric in Sunday Win to Secure #1 Spot in Division
The 3-1 Volcanoes faced the 1-1 newly formed Electric from Great Falls. The first half was a back-and-forth game, with the Volcanoes up 61-60 at halftime. For most of the third quarter, the Volcanoes were up but only by a few points at one point, up by six points. However, with one minute left in the third quarter, the Volcanoes were leading 98-83. At the end of the third quarter, the Volcanoes were winning 100-86.
The fourth quarter was wild, with the Volcanoes winning by 23 with 10 minutes left in the game, 110-87. However, the Electric were coming back and making shots behind the arc. They cut the lead to 12 with 7:12 minutes left, 112-100. In less than a minute, the Volcanoes still won with a score of 126-115. The Electric made a few baskets in the last 30 seconds to make the final score 127-120.
With the win, the Volcanoes improved their record to 4-1. Markus Golder scored a game-high 27 points, with Thomas Miles scoring 25 points. Another player to highlight is Caleb Coleman, who came off the bench to score 16 points and grab eight rebounds. The Volcanoes are back home on Friday at 7 PM when they will face the Emerald City Jaguars out of Eugene. Remember, tickets are only 10 dollars for adults and five for seniors and children.
