Volcanoes Win Home Opener Over Rival Salem Capitals
What a game between the Vancouver Volcanoes and the Salem Capitals in their home opener. Down by 10 in the 4th quarter, 109-99 to the Capitals, the Volcanoes rumbled back to win 132-121. Behind seven players who scored in double figures, Markus Golder led the way with 28 points. However, Rashaun Coleman is your player of the game with 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists.
Another player worth mentioning is Xavier Dupree, who scored 12 points and 11 rebounds. The 6’9 Dupree even made two
shots from behind the arc. Also, let’s not forget that Tyshon Pickett scored 19 points and made some huge free throws in the 4th quarter lead, leading the comeback!!
With a record of 3-0 on the season, the Volcanoes are five wins away from trying their wins total from last season. Beating two great teams’ back-to-back nights shows that this team has toughness and knows how to focus. The Volcanoes are hosting the Capitals in round two on Sunday at 3 pm.
