Vancouver, WA, March 21st, 2023 – The Vancouver Volcanoes are excited to announce Waste Connections as our official community partner for the 2023 basketball season! We will be hosting six fundraising games that will benefit the following community partners: Share Vancouver (March 31st), East Vancouver Business Association Scholarship Fund (April 21st), Chelsea’s Closet (April 29th), Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (May 5th), Hoops For Hope (May 13th), and the Salvation Army (May 26th). All hosted community partner games will be held at Clark Community College O’Connell Sports Complex at 7:00 p.m.
Waste Connections and the Vancouver Volcanoes are committed to supporting the Vancouver youth community and giving back to local organizations. This new partnership will allow community organizations to raise money and awareness by supporting the team and selling Vancouver Volcanoes tickets for the 2023 basketball season. A specific home game and a coupon code have been designated for each organization. Supporters will enter this coupon code when buying any Volcano tickets online, and 50% of those sales will go back to the organization for all 2023 home games, including the organization’s specific fundraising night. There are multiple places to enter this coupon code when purchasing tickets online, the most popular being the checkout page. All home games and all ticket types will be included in the fundraiser.

There are also a number of ways local businesses can help raise money and support these community organizations. 50% of any Banners, Game Day Vendors, Company Games Nights, or Corporate Alley Oops purchased with the Volcanoes will also be included in the fundraiser. The Corporate Alley Oop provides tickets to the fundraising organization to pass out to underprivileged youth and/or constituents to attend the game for free. The Yard Milkshake Bar has stepped up to create the Berry Monkey Milkshake & Cano’s Dream Shake that also donate proceeds to these amazing community organizations. Let us know if you have products you would like to promote that may also be included in our fundraisers.

Share Vancouver provides food for all ages, operates four shelters, provides rental assistance with caring case management to help clients secure affordable housing, and assists those living on the streets as well as those at risk of losing their homes. Share Vancouver will be our first community fundraising game on Friday, March 31st when the Vancouver Volcanoes take on the Seattle Superhawks. It will be Disco Fever Night as we raise money for Share Vancouver with Jessica Chan (Pop Local) and Ben Surrat (Passages to Success), as they compete in the annual Share Gala on April 22nd.
The East Vancouver Business Association Scholarship Fund has raised over $75,000 in education scholarships over the last 10 years in Clark County. Rather than sending future leaders out of the area for education and having them not return, they believe that it is important that our young people receive a quality education here in town and that we keep that educated workforce in the area. In the spirit of scholarships, we encourage fans in attendance to represent their local high school for Spirit Night, as the Volcanoes take on the Bakersfield Majestics Friday, April 21st. The East Vancouver Business Association’s mission is to promote and support businesses within its community. For more information on EVBA visit:
The Chelsea Hicks Foundation runs the Chelsea’s Closet therapeutic costume play program, bringing Hope, Laughter, and Empowerment to seriously ill children in local hospitals throughout Oregon and SW Washington. Chelsea’s Closet is a mobile dress-up closet providing seriously ill children and their siblings with costumes that they keep, toys and accessories to transform into any Superhero, Princess or any imaginative character to help battle their disease. For over 13 years, Chelsea’s Closet has brought joy, smiles, and magical play to over 14,000 seriously ill children in our community. The children and families served are the true Superheroes, which is why we will be celebrating Super Hero Night when the
Vancouver Volcanoes host the California Sea-Kings on April 29th. Wear your favorite costume and join us to support CHF! For more information on Chelsea’s Closet follow the link below:
